Empire Hotel

Akhirnya sampai juga hajat untuk try out the Suite at the Empire Hotel. We checked in last Saturday 13th Feb and stayed for two nights, making use of the long weekend holiday… Overall, the room was nice but it could do with new sofa sets and a flat screen TV. Here are some pictures I managed to take of the Suite Room before we turned it upside down hehe… We were given Room 3311 which was located on the East Atrium.

MH…BI

Salam all,

You may have read my previous post about the hubby and I catching a flight to KL last December to be with our daughter Nanee . Thank goodness for our travel agent whom I called from KK to find me a flight to KL the next day. We got our tickets on Friday morning and caught the 3pm flight to KL. It was the holiday season and all flights were full but thankfully, the travel agent managed to find us last minute seats. What more, we were even upgraded to Business Class upon check-in. Wohoo…

We flew to KL by MH. I just love MH, mostly because of their inflight meals. Food on the economy class were always nyaman and I love the presentation as well. So I was really excited to find out how the food in Business Class was…

KL-1 Drinks before take-off

KL-2 More drinks served after take-off and through out the flight.

KL-3 We were given these coupons so that we can use the Premier Lanes during Immigration clearance

KL-4 Table cloth before being served our meals

KL-5KL-8I chose chicken with rice

KL-6

KL-9 Whilst the hubby chose Beef Steak with Potatoes. Just look at that juicy steak. I’m sure your mouth must be watering whilst reading this :)

KL-7Meals were served with hot bun and garlic bread. I loved the garlic bread, it was so crispy. *Kan minta lagi, mambari malu jua, padahal they had banyak lagi*

KL-10Salad

KL-11And not forgetting Ferrero Rocher. All meals on MH are served with these chocolates.

So as expected the meals were nyaman and the layanan was splendid. I know that MH will be my first choice of airline if travelling to KL.

Ok, I know we are supposed to support our national carrier but…. I think RBA need lots of improvement. Our return flight from KL was by RBA and this was what I observed.

KL-12 I appreciate and am pleased about the prayer which was read before flight take-off.

KL-13And I loved the little mirror *hehe sakai*

KL-14 But when the food came. I was really disappointed. We had a choice of either ‘Kolo Mee’ or…

KL-15another type of noodle *which I don’t know the name*.

I mean at least they could have given either a choice of rice or noodles and not BOTH noodles. Anyway, that was that, nevermind. But when we tasted the meal, alaa inda nyaman ah. I’m sorry RBA, although you are our national carrier, I am sad to say that we were really disappointed.

KL-16

This was the cake that came with the meal which had no taste at all so *tawar*.

KL-17Its not just the meals but come on…. look at the presentation of this meal. Tidak menyelera kan sama sekali. I ended up not eating anything. I haven’t flown much with RBA since the budget airlines came into the market. I mean, the price of the ticket we paid was very high. Maybe it was because of a last minute purchase. It was nearly B$400 for a ONE way air fare from KL to Brunei and this is what we get? If you’re asking why we did not fly on other airlines, well this was the only flights available.

(The food on budget airlines are tons better).

I hope I don’t get into trouble by RBA about this post…. hehe..

KK Trip

I just remembered that I have not blogged about our recent holiday to Kota Kinabalu. We went on a family vacation minus Nanee (who went to Kuala Lumpur on another matter) last 6th to 10th December. We were joined by the 716 family and Buaming and Paming.

We decided to stay at the Imperial Boutec Hotel which was located in the town area instead of the hotels at 1Borneo since we find it easier to jalan-jalan. For this trip, we took the flight instead of driving so staying at the town area would be more convenient for us to move around.

KK-04

My bother Jim and his wife Anna sent us off at the airport. Well not sent but took our cars home. Thanks Jim & Anna

KK-07

Its been a while since we flew on RBA

KK-05

KK-15

Its a shame we didn’t get to try any food since it was only a short flight with just enough time to fill in the embarkation forms.

KK-19

We arrived KK at around 6pm

KK-24

Checked in connecting rooms at Imperial Boutec Hotel

KK-25

The rooms were nice and clean, not great but comfy

KK-27

Bathroom was ‘small’

KK-33

Seems they don’t have table to place these

KK-43

Both Zara & Imran love to play on this unique Orange chair

KK-35

There was free internet in the rooms via cable

KK-36

And the first thing the boys did was get their lappies connected.

KK-45

We had dinner at Seafood Village which was just few minutes walk from the Hotel. KK holiday would be incomplete without a Seafood Dinner

KK-46

KL (Part 2)

Day 2 (01 August 2009) of our KL trip was spent at Masjid India, One Utama and later at Times Square. We were lucky that we were in Masjid India very early and left just before noon because as some of you may have seen from the news, a riot took place nearby just after we left Masjid India. But we did have a hard time finding a Taxi to take us back to the hotel because all roads leading to Bukit Bintang area (where we stayed) were closed. So in the end, this one Taxi driver offered to take us to KL Central and advised us to take the monorail from there to Bukit Bintang. The monorail was packed macam sardin. Ok enjoy the pictures…
